The
Amtrak Modeling Website was started in 2001 when two Amtrak modelers,
exchanged ideas. With the exchange of ideas, the two started the Amtrak
Modeling Website. The website was started to facilitate ideas between
other modelers. Both Layouts featured various Amtrak trains. Marcus the
President of Amtrak Modeling featured the Acela Express, as well as the
Pacific Surf-liner. Due to time constraints as well as other things,
Marcus' layout has been out of service since 2003. In the near future his
layout, will once again return to The Amtrak Modeling Website.

Since
the start of the website, DJs layout has been kept up moving around various hurdles.
Modeling various Amtrak routes including Amtrak's Acela Express. Those
hurdles included work, school, time, and time for my self. The layout
has been strong since 2002 undergoing a host of changes. The last major update in June marked the
first time the website and layout had taken a major hiatus
since its start. Over the hiatus, we took the time to re-discover the
direction that the website and the layout was going. Now that we are
back stronger than ever, we look to expand on ideas that we have learned
while on hiatus.

In
2006 The Amtrak Modeling website expanded by adding another member to
the website, by adding Eric Sobieski. He models the northeast corridor,
as well as various sections from New jersey-Philadelphia area. He
features Metro north, New Jersey transit, CSX, and other various roads.
Coming up in future updates, we will feature his layout as well.
